Kawasaki ZX14

The procrastination has come to an end and we bought a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX14. A few posts down I ruminated about whether to go with my head or my heart when choosing a new motorcycle. In the end I’d like to think it was a bit of both. I decided on the bigger Kawasaki. I got a great deal from Peter Stevens Motorcycles in Elizabeth St Melbourne. The whole deal was transacted over the ‘phone and today was the first time I actually saw ‘my’ motorcycle.

Around 9.30 am on the showroom floor in Elizabeth St.

Through the city and a short run down the radar infested freeway and she was home.

 Whose got a big grin?

Think I will have to hide the keys though!

It now has 92 kilometers on the clock!

  1. What an absolute ripper Jules – Dorothy looks pretty chuffed too so not only do the keys need hiding, buy a big ground anchor too 🙂

Are radar detectors illegal in Vic?

    Warmest congrats again!!!

Thanks for your comments fellas. No radar detectors permitted anywhere in Oz as far as I know. (Don't get me going on how many of our personal freedoms have been whittled away in the name of 'road safety'. The presumption of guilt, rather than innocence, when caught by speed cameras being one that is particularly galling given the number of technical & scientific shortcomings with them).

Oh yes, Dorothy still holds her motorcycle license so I may well take your advice Geoff!

    Cheers Jules.

  3. Congrats! I wish getting a motorcycle would be so easy here as in Oz land 🙁
Prices are wwaaayyy too high, I'm struggling to buy a 2005-2006 v-strom and might need a loan since it cost around 9500 AUD!!!

  4. Wanderer, thanks for your good wishes.A purchase like this is one of the few benefits of growing a little older!

I understand that each country's tax & import duty regime has a lot to do with the pricing of motorcycles.

You would not believe how inexpensive motorcycles and cars are in the USA – I was astounded when I was there last year.

    Cheers Jules.
